Kuusamo invites you to fish on its lakes and rivers.

Fishing is a trip to the nature for the whole family, even the youngest member can experience excitement and joy of catching a common whitefish, greyling or even a trout.

Kuusamo is situated in the highlands of Koillismaa, where the waters are clear and for these waters the valuable trout and greyling populations are natural.

The fishing district of Kuusamo has large river areas, lakes, ponds and small streams. There is over 30 different river areas to fish and also over 100 lakes and ponds to fish from aswell. The most famous places are Kuusinki, Oulanka and Kitka rivers and Kuusamo, Muo and Kitka lakes.

In Kuusamo at any time of the year, the method depends on the time of the year. Ice fishing from late autumn till spring and fly fishing, trolling and such during the summer.

In the fishing district of Kuusamo there are almost untouched fishing areas. And it is easy to travel to such locations. And for the popular spots there are also laavus and places to build fires.
